Manatee County Bar Association Recognizes Service To Community

The Manatee County Bar Association recognized one of its members for his record of service to the community. In the sixth annual presentation of the awards, DAVID W. WILCOX received the Lifetime Achievement Award. The purpose of the awards is to highlight Bar Association members who provide service to the community through participation in organizations and activities beyond the Bar and mandatory pro bono legal services. Palmetto Mayor Larry Bustle made the presentations of the awards.

For his numerous leadership roles in local charitable and civic organizations, Wilcox earned the Lifetime Achievement Award. They include service as immediate Past President of the Kiwanis Club of Bradenton, Chairman of the profitable Sporting Clays event for the United Way of Manatee County, Past President and General Chairman of the DeSoto Celebration and the DeSoto Historical Foundation, a charter member of the Manatee Chamber of Commerce Leadership Manatee program, founding member of the political action committee formerly known as Take Back Bradenton and Chairman of the Board of Manatee Glens Addiction Center. He remains a loyal and proud supporter of his alma mater, Florida State University, having served on the National Alumni Board of Directors and as President of the FSU College of Law Alumni Association and served as Area Chairman for FSU’s Seminole Boosters for 17 years.

Practicing law in Manatee County since 1979, Wilcox is a solo practitioner in the areas of Real Estate, Business, Contracts, Entertainment, and the Arts. He and his wife Susan and their son reside in Bradenton, Florida.
